Dorothy was clearly a most attractive person (left) married to George “ a lovely man” who worked for his father George Elphinstone in a light engineering works in the Elephant and Castle, before joining Richard Costain for 21 years, as a property developer, becoming a director. During the 1939-1945 war he worked on several wartime assignments, the most well known being the Mulberry Harbours that were floated across the channel and sunk off shore at the Normandy Beaches.
After the war he was headhunted by Taylor Woodrow, and joined as a property developer and director.
